ABOUT
The McCartney Woods is a private conservation property and sanctuary in the middle of the Cache River Basin, one of North America’s most ecologically significant wetland systems.
McCartney Woods exist to model what’s possible when stewardship, sportsmanship, and long-term thinking come together. This place is being renewed, restored, and protected for its highest and best purposes for the American landscape, and then someday… handed forward with great care.
The property is not open to the public, but its purpose is nationally significant. The McCartney Woods is a working demonstration that is an example of great vision for water quality, wetland function, and waterfowl and wildlife use. Through habitat restoration, ethical hunting, and intentional management, The Woods offer a living blueprint for how people can serve as stewards of irreplaceable places that provide experiences that live in the everlasting memory of people.
